Lara Deits grew up in Hoquiam, WA and lived in Seattle for 15 years before moving to Bainbridge Island in 2017. Lara has a B.A. in Political Science from Seattle University. Lara began her career at Quellos Group, an alternatives investment management business, which was later acquired by BlackRock in 2007. Lara initially focused on talent management where she conducted full cycle recruiting for the firm as well as spearheaded the Internship Program. Lara then moved into Client Reporting where she spent eleven years and most recently managed the Seattle investment reporting platform. At BlackRock, Lara launched and co-chaired the Seattle chapter of Families at BlackRock and was active in BlackRock Gives, BlackRock’s charitable giving committee. Lara also was the point person for the Seattle office’s charitable relationship with Childhaven, which included the Adopt-a-Family program each holiday season and the annual campaign to sponsor a Childhaven van. Lara recently left BlackRock to spend more time with her three young boys and husband, and plans to transition her career into the non-profit space. Lara will begin the Non-Profit Management certificate program at the University of Washington in the Fall of 2018.
